Breitling Exospace B55: Most Expensive Smartwatch till Date!

A smartwatch is no longer just to notify you about your calls/messages or give you timely updates about your health and how much you ran. It has become so much professional that the pilots can even count the time for take offs and landing and not every smartwatch has this feature. Breitling, a leading Swiss luxury watchmaker has exclusively launched the watch called the BreitlingExospace B55 which is a futuristic model, ahead of its time. Scott Kelly, the brand ambassador of Breitling mentioned that, in his opinion, smarter watches like the BreitlingExospace B55 Connected would be the future of what professionals would wear in space. The ultimate goal of this watch would be to minimize pilot distractions and help keep an uncluttered ‘paper-free’ cockpit.

BreitlingExospace B55 is mélange of astonishing innovation, functionality, and performance. The watch primarily connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and while it gives you a look and feel of owning a smart timepiece, the B55 was made to achieve a lot more than being just another ‘smartwatch’. The Exospace is, in fact, the creation of the Breitling’s Vice President, Mr. Jean-Paul Girardin who himself is a professional helicopter pilot. The BreitlingExpospace B55 Yachting model showcases an updated multi-colored dial and some really uber cool tools for perhaps one of the most elite and expensive hobbies around the world and guess what, it’s actually a little cheaper than previous models of the watch.

The Exospace B55 has an exclusive caliber equipped with an array of unique functions custom-made for pilots and yachtsman; it has a” countdown/count up “system, an electronic tachymeter, a “Chrono flight” and “Chrono regatta” device for recording flight and regatta times, respectively, while remembering departure and arrival times.

In addition to the above mentioned features it also has functions like chronograph with split and lap time and of course the normal smartphone notifications

So if you’re wondering how much this immaculately designed smartwatch is being priced, then I must warn you that this watch could literally cost you a fortune and for a matter of fact it is so far THE MOST EXPENSIVE SMARTWATCH ever made.

Let’s give you a quick run through of its technical specifications and yes the cost:

The Case:

The watch case itself is made from matte finished black titanium, 46 mm in diameter and a bit over 15 mm thick. While that sounds like a monster, the short curved-down lugs and lightweight alloy made it very comfortable to wear. It’s not as broad shouldered and bulky as the similarB50 Cockpit, and the case finishing is excellent, in typical Breitling fashion. The bidirectional engraved bezel is satisfying and easy to operate thanks to a tall profile and that trademark Breitling rider tabs and the crown knurling is deep and grippy.

The clasp:

Push-pieces snap with authority and the blue rubber strap is comfortable, cut to length and combined with the pushbutton deployant clasp that has a ratcheting micro-adjustment. The overall vibe is extremely sporty, thanks to the pop of color in the strap and hands and the black finish.

The Dial:

The dial features Arabic numerals, with both digital and analog displays, and the hour and minute hands are luminescent, thanks to the Super Luminova coating. The watch is fitted on a blue Twin Pro rubber strap with a folding clasp.

Super Quartz™, thermo compensated quartz electronic, analog and 12/24hr LCD digital display, backlighting (white light), battery state-of-charge indicator

1/100th second, max. 99 hrs. 59 min. 59 sec., fly back function, electronic tachometer, chronograph (lap timer, regatta times)

Other Features:

Some of the most amazing features that BreitlingExospace 55 includes are the two time zone display, countdown timer, 7 daily alarms, regatta chronograph with independent alarm, UTC world time; pairing possibility (Bluetooth Low Energy) with a smartphone for data transfer, remote settings, lap timer up to a maximum of 50 recordings, notification update and much much more.

Watchmaking has traditionally often been about pushing forward to be the best possible instruments for specific functions, you’re better able to view a watch like the Exospace B55 Connected as one more hash mark on that continuum, just as a slide rule-equipped Navitimer was a state of the art pilot’s watch in 1954.BreitlingExospace B55 is a perfect accessory for all your outdoor activities from swimming, biking, running and of course flying.
